Charitable Trust: Trust Law Definition
A trust established for purposes that benefit the public, such as relief of poverty, advancement of education, religion, or other purposes beneficial to the community. Charitable trusts enjoy significant tax advantages including exemption from income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax. Must be exclusively charitable.
