Accumulation and Maintenance Trust: Trust Law Definition

A trust designed for children where income can be accumulated (saved and reinvested) until beneficiaries reach a specified age (up to 25), when they become entitled to the capital. Historically had favourable tax treatment but this changed significantly in 2006. Now rarely used for new trusts.
